Item Comparative analysis of exhaust gases obtained in S.I and C.I of an internal combustion engine(Scholars Research Library, 2015) Alabi, I. O.; Olaiya, K. A.; Kareem, M. O.; Olalekan, A. I.ICE which could be spark ignition (S.I) or compression ignition (C.I) engine is one of the building blocks of modern civilization. In light of this, an effective engine should be able to contribute immensely to a safe environment. Numerous factors like fuel economy, power and torque, reliability, pollution, safety and cost are necessary in determining and comparing the effectiveness of the engines. This paper identifies, examines and compares the rate of incombustible particles present in the engines (S.I and C.I) at varying loading and speed conditions via exhaust gas detector. Post-hoc analysis was carried out using SPSS. It was discovered that CO and HC are the most dangerous incombustible particles present in engines and also the incombustible rate is more pronounced in C.I than S.I engine, which confirmed that S.I. engine is far better in terms of pollution reduction. Probable recommendations were later made.Item The Effects of Heat Generation on Cutting Tool and Machined Workpiece(Journal of Physics: Conference Series, 2019-07) Ogedengbe, T.S.; Okediji, A. P.; Yussouf, A. A.; Aderoba, O. A.; Abiola, O. A.; Alabi, I. O.; Alonge, O. IMetal cutting processes usually cause heat generation at the cutting zone (around the workpiece-tool intersection). The heat generated during these processes may cause different effects on both the workpiece and tool, this in turn may affect the finished product and the general performance of the machined piece. In this study, a review was done on various types of machining conditions available, effects of heat generated on the workpiece and tool, and the approaches adopted to reduce this heat at cutting zones. This study also focuses on the simulation of percentage ratio of heat removal. To handle the simulation, various approaches of heat removal methods were used to get the percentage ratio using the ansys version 19.1 software. It was discovered that heat generation causes two major types of wear on the tool, crater and flank wear, resulting in the reduction of cutting tool life as well as dimensional inaccuracy, surface damage and severe corrosion cases on the workpiece. Various heat reduction methods and coolant application types were as well studied and their merits and demerits were discussed.Item The Effects of Heat Generation on Cutting Tool and Machined Workpiece(International Conference on Engineering for Sustainable World, 2019) Ogedengbe, T.S.; Okediji, A. P.; Alabi, I. O.This study modifies a Car Speed Limiting Device (CSLD) based on a pre-existing design with a view to avoiding car over speeding and reduce possible accident on highway. The speed limiter was modified by incorporating a carrier chip into the device using an Arduino Nano to coordinate the activities of the carrier chip and the speed limiter. The function of the carrier chip is to send and receive notification message from owner’s phone number. The components were connected in between the two wires of the car fuel line using existing design. Two different cars were used and tested on a highway. The result obtained for the two vehicles showed different responses. When the speed of the car exceeds the designed speed limit of the device, it was transmitted by the speed limiting device, the speed governor came into action and restricted the car from going beyond the pre-set speed by actuating the relay to reduce the current flowing through the fuel line and reduced the rate of flow of fuel into the combustion chamber which reduces the power output of the engine. The speed limiter became active. Warning signal in the form of alarm was activated, and the receiver sends a message to the owner through the carrier chip. The study concluded that the modified speed governor design is better, safer and remotely controlled compared to the existing design.Item REMOTELY CONTROLLED CAR SPEED GOVERNOR(1st International Conference on Engineering and Environmental Sciences, Osun State University (NOVEMBER 5-7, 2019), 2019-11) Alonge, O.I.; Abiola, O.A.,; Onigbogi, A.O.,; Akinbode, F.O.; Okediji, A.
